The Central Government has officially appointed six additional judges from the Delhi and Karnataka High Courts as permanent judges. The announcement was made on Monday, following a recommendation from the Supreme Court Collegium.
Union Minister of State for Law (Independent Charge), Arjun Ram Meghwal, confirmed the development via a tweet.
The following judges have been made permanent:
Delhi High Court:
- Justice Shalinder Kaur
- Justice Ravinder Dudeja
Karnataka High Court: 3. Justice Ramachandra Dattatray Huddar 4. Justice Venkatesh Naik Thavaryanaik 5. Justice Vijaykumar Adagouda Patil 6. Justice Rajesh Rai Kallangala (effective from February 1, 2025, upon the occurrence of a vacancy)
The decision follows a recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium on December 12, led by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, to confirm these judges as permanent members of their respective High Courts.
