OFB Tech Private Limited has filed a defamation suit against The Morning Context, seeking damages over ₹2 crores for publishing an allegedly defamatory article titled “The Work Culture of Business Doesn’t Like to Talk About.” The suit was filed about a report written by The Morning Context editor Harveen Ahluwalia, in which the news outlet accused OFB of fostering a toxic work environment involving verbal abuse and intimidation.

OFB has requested that the article be taken down, claiming it is based on false and unverified information. According to OFB, the article has damaged the company’s reputation, especially as it prepares for an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The article has led to potential investors backing away, further impacting the company’s prospects.

In response to OFB’s application, Justice Vikas Mahajan of the Delhi High Court issued a summons to Slowform Media Pvt. Ltd., the owner of The Morning Context, and granted them time to file a response. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on December 19.

This case marks the second defamation suit filed by OFB against The Morning Context within two months. In the first suit, OFB challenged a report concerning a criminal case involving the company’s management. On October 15, Justice Mahajan ruled that the article could not be protected under defenses of truth, fair comment, or privilege, ordering its removal and preventing further circulation.

In the current case, OFB has sought an interim injunction to prevent the continued publication of the contested article. Senior Advocate Saikrishna Rajagopal represented The Morning Context in the proceedings. In contrast, OFB was represented by Advocates Tanmaya Mehta, Sanyam Khetarpal, Lisa Sankrit, Armaan Grover, Nitesh Goyal, Prakriti Anand, and Nitai Aggarwal. Today, a Division Bench of the Delhi High Court heard an appeal from The Morning Context against the previous takedown order and advised Slowform Media to approach the single-judge bench to seek a modification or vacation of the injunction.
