The Central Government, on Friday, officially notified the appointment of five additional judges of the Madras High Court as permanent judges.
The judges who have been made permanent are Justices LC Victoria Gowri, PB Balaji, KK Ramakrishnan, Ramachandran Kalaimathi, and KG Thilakavadi.
The Madras High Court Collegium had unanimously recommended their elevation to permanent judges on April 29, 2024. This recommendation was supported by both the Chief Minister and the Governor of Tamil Nadu.
Subsequently, on September 10, 2024, the Supreme Court Collegium also endorsed this proposal, leading to their appointment as permanent judges.
