Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, recently elected as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), emphasized on Friday the importance of fostering complete cooperation between the bar and the bench to ensure the smooth administration of justice in the Supreme Court.
Expressing his gratitude, Sibal remarked, “It’s an honor to serve as the president of SCBA after a gap of 22 years. I am committed to ensuring full cooperation from our side, as without it, the goals we aspire to achieve will not be attainable.”
Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud extended his congratulations to the seasoned lawyer on his election victory.
The elections for the Executive Committee of SCBA took place on Thursday, with the results announced the following night.
Sibal secured 1,066 votes, defeating his closest competitor, Senior Counsel Pradeep Rai, who garnered 689 votes.
Advocate Rachana Srivastava clinched the position of Vice President with 816 votes, surpassing her closest rival, Sukumar Pattjoshi, who secured 784 votes.
